Meet John Foley
John Foley was born and raised in Middlesex County (East Brunswick) New Jersey . He graduated from Villanova University in 1985 and soon after settled in Haddon Township with his wife Amy. He was a member of the Haddon Township Board of Commissioners from 2007 until 2017 where he supported the redevelopment of the old Westmont Theater into its current use as a Planet Fitness gym and the redevelopment of the old Dy-Dee Diaper washing service into the Haddon Town Center. Mr. Foley has been active in the Haddon Township Athletic Association as a youth soccer and basketball coach. In addition, Mr. Foley founded and is the Race Director for the Haddon Township Turkey Trot – an annual 5k and 1 mile fun that generates funds for the South Jersey Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
In addition to his Bachelor’s degree from Villanova Mr. Foley also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Temple University. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the Cherry Hill Fire Department in Cherry Hill NJ. Previously Mr. Foley worked as an Internal Auditor for the New Jersey Department of the Treasury and has held other financial positions in the insurance, banking and chemical industries.
Personally Mr. Foley and his wife Amy have been married for 29 years and are the proud parents of three daughters. Their oldest graduated from Rowan University in 2019 and currently works as a Claims Specialist for the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance company. Their middle daughter graduated from Rowan University in 2021 and has accepted a position as an elementary school teacher in Camden NJ. Their youngest is a 2021 graduate of Haddon Township High School and will be heading off to the University of Pittsburgh in the Fall to study Physical Therapy.
Mr. Foley is running for State Senate to continue his passion for public service and believes his financial background and elected experience make well qualified to address New Jersey’s high property taxes and oversized government.
