Meet Ed Farmer
Ed Farmer grew up in Stratford. His parents, Ed and Janice Farmer, were from Somerdale and Magnolia before moving their young family to Stratford. They are still together 60 years later. Ed attended Parkview and Yellin Schools before Sterling High School and then Rutgers University in Camden. He has degrees in Engineering and Computer Science and has spent 35 years in the IT industry working in nuclear energy, banking, insurance, software development and Missile Defense. He has also spent 25 years working as a wedding photographer and a dozen preparing tax returns at his father’s office in Somerdale. His family has deep roots in Camden County where his father’s family moved in the 1950’s. His mother’s family has been in this area of South Jersey for nearly 400 years.
Mr. Farmer spent 25 years in Mount Holly, Delran and Mount Laurel, where his three children graduated from Lenape High School. Two went on to graduate from Rutgers with degrees in engineering and computer science. His youngest is a recent Lenape graduate. He moved to Cherry Hill in 2018.
While Mr. Farmer has been following politics since the Nixon/Humphrey race of 1968, this is the first time that he has run for political office. He believes that the state’s legislature has grown stagnant and lethargic while the courts and the executive branch have run roughshod over the state and the people.
